How do I enable access to my camera or microphone? (website)

Access to your device’s camera or microphone requires that you grant permissions to the website.

The first time you use a feature that requires either the camera or microphone, your web browser will ask if you wish to grant or deny the permission. If you decline the permissions request and then decide you do want to use a feature, you may have to go into your web browser’s settings to explicitly change and allow access to the website.

Follow the steps below on your web browser to access these permissions and configure them.

Chrome

Shortcut: Copy and paste the following in your Chrome address bar, then jump to step 6:

chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https://www.biggercity.com

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. At the top right, click More (three vertical dots icon) and then Settings.

  3. Click Privacy and security > Site settings, and then Camera or Microphone.

  4. Ensure the option Sites can ask to use your camera / microphone is selected.

  5. Scroll down and find the site listing for biggercity.com.

  6. Set the drop down for Camera to Allow.

  7. Set the drop down for Microphone to Allow.

  8. Close the Settings tab.

  9. Open BiggerCity again, or reload the BiggerCity tab if it’s already open.

Firefox

Shortcut: Copy and paste the following in your Chrome address bar, then jump to step 4:

about:preferences#privacy

  1. Open Firefox.

  2. At the top right, click More (three horizontal bars icon) and then Settings.

  3. Click Privacy & Security on the left.

  4. Scroll down to the Permissions section.

  5. Click Settings… button to the right of Camera or Microphone.

  6. A window will appear with the websites you’ve granted or denied permissions to.

  7. Find BiggerCity in the list, and set the status to Allow.

  8. Click Save Changes.

  9. Close the Settings tab.

  10. Open BiggerCity again, or reload the BiggerCity tab if it’s already open.

Safari

  • Follow the instructions in this Safari User Guide article. Be sure to apply the Allow option for microphone and/or camera settings to the biggercity.com website.
