Give your profile a boost!

You can have your profile featured at BiggerCity by bidding for one of the limited spots. Featured profiles receive more views, which can lead to new connections and encounters.

Featured profile spots are available through a blind auction. The minimum bid for a chance to win a spot is 100 coins. Auctions run every 2 hours, and the top six bids are chosen as winners. The more coins you bid, the higher your chance to win a spot for the next featured cycle.

How do I place a bid?

You’ll first need to get virtual coins if you don’t have any in your wallet. There are several packages to choose from when you purchase coins. Once you have coins, you can use the Add Your Profile button in the featured section to place a bid. Use the slider or tap/click the amount to set your bid, then use the Place Bid button to submit it. 

What happens if I have a winning bid?

You will be notified by message and your profile will be featured for the next 2 hours. The number of coins you bid will be deducted from your wallet.

What if my bid does not win?

If your bid does not win, no coins are deducted from your wallet.  Your bid will remain active for future auction cycles, which occur every 2 hours. A bid can remain active for up to 24 hours, unless you cancel it. If your bid is high enough to win a future cycle, your profile will be featured at that time. If not, your bid will remain active for the next auction cycle, until it automatically expires after the 24-hours.

Can I change or cancel my bid?

You can update your bid at any time. For example, if your bid does not win the current auction, it means other citizens bid higher amounts. You can increase your bid to have a better chance of winning on the next cycle.  Use the Add Your Profile button to access your bid, and then use the slider or tap/click the amount to set the new amount, then use the Update Bid button.  If you no longer wish to bid, use the Cancel Bid button to cancel anytime. 

When do the winning bid selections happen?

The auctions run every two hours, on the clock, starting at midnight. Thus, there are winner selections at 2:00, 4:00, 6:00, 8:00, 10:00 and 12:00 AM/PM.

How do I know how much to bid?

It’s a blind auction, so you will not know what others are bidding. You can start with a low amount and if your bid is not succesfull, increase your bid for the next cycle. During busy times (e.g., at night or on weekends) you may have to bid more aggressively to compete with other bidders.

How often can I be featured?

Your profile can only be featured once every 24 hours. This means that once your profile is featured, you will have to wait another 24 hours before you can place a new bid and participate again.

How can I get the most views with a featured profile?

First, it is essential to have a good profile photo (ideally showing your face). Profiles with no photos, or photos that are dark, blurry, or cropped don’t do well. You should also have a complete profile. Fill in all the information available in the profile editor, and write a positive, clear and engaging personal ad. Adding several public photos to your profile will also help engagement. Timing is also important; Be sure to have your profile ready before you bid, and don’t change your profile photo while your profile is being featured (doing so, could result on your photo not showing while it awaits approval from the moderators). Bidding for a featured spot during primetime (nights and weekends), means more citizens will get a chance to see your profile in the featured section.

Can I be featured without placing a bid?

It’s possible, but chances are low. If there are not enough bids to fill-in the available featured spots, profiles will be selected at random from citizens with a photo and a complete profile.
